Team moonsparks

Lisa Sparks
Owner/CEO
Lisa is an army veteran who discovered ceramics to help cope with PTSD.
She spent the majority of her career as a software engineer and, since retiring, has been volunteering for art galleries and museums.
One of Lisa's most meaningful accomplishments is volunteering at Gateway Museum in Eagle Nest, a 501(C)3. She held every position, from volunteer to President during her tenure...except Secretary.
Lisa has supported artists, in one way or another, most of her life, and is now able to provide a community studio venue to Taos ceramicists.
Sonja Hinrichsen
Ceramicist
Sonja studied Art Education in Stuttgart, Germany. She has an MFA in
New Genres Art from the San Francisco Art Institute and has participated in group/solo exhibitions and artists residencies worldwide. Sonja creates immersive installations and conducts participatory art events with communities all over the US and Europe. In her large-scale project "Snow Drawings" she merges collaborative art making with sublime nature experience. A core interest are environmental concerns and human relationships with nature. A project about wild growing plants as a food source led to the need for custom ceramic ware. Sonja began taking ceramics classes at Oakland Community College in 2014. She has since taken many classes and workshops to hone her skills in throwing, hand building. glazing and various firing techniques. She spent the fall of 2024 semester at the University of Nebraska to study
with acclaimed ceramicists Pete Pinnell and Margaret Bohls. Sonja has been teaching for several years. In 2021/22 she ran the Ceramics Program at the Randall Museum in San Francisco. She has also taught ceramics at community studios in Oakland and for the City of Oakland at Studio One Art Center.
Shad Boswell
Ceramic Studio Apprentice
Shad stopped by moonsparks one day after seeing the ceramics sign off of Gusdorf. Shad is a carpenter by trade and is knowledgable in ceramics. He loves pottery and asked if he could help out with
the completion of the ceramics studio buildout. He has been indispensable and is a much appreciated asset to moonsparks LLC.
